Student Intern in Guelph, ON

About Nicole

Hello there! My name is Nicole, and I'm the newest student intern at Changing Tides Counselling. I'm currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

After obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph, I spent roughly 20 years supporting individuals in our community. I've worked as an educational assistant within the school board, in residential treatment homes, and as a rehabilitation therapist for individuals with acquired brain injuries. My passion for helping others improve their overall well-being has grown tremendously over the years, prompting me to further my education and pursue a Master's degree.

My primary goal when working with individuals is to establish a non-judgmental space where they can freely express themselves and share their life experiences. I believe that each person is unique and special in their own way, and my deep-rooted respect for their experiences and views of the world forms the foundation of our relationship. Together, we can collaboratively create a treatment plan that is tailored to their current situation and needs.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy reading, exploring nature, drawing and painting, attending concerts, dancing, and spending time with my family and friends.
