About Rachel

Hello! My name is Rachel Millar, I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I completed my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University.

I have developed my extensive skill set as a clinician in community, residential, and health based settings. I am competent in providing psychotherapy services to adults and youth in the areas of domestic violence, sexual violence, trauma and anxiety/stress management.

My therapeutic philosophy is to utilize a variety of modalities in order to offer individualized care, best suited to my client’s needs and identified treatment goals.  In particular, I draw from a systemic, trauma-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to support clients. My goal is to support client’s in overcoming barriers, developing resilience, learning new coping skills, and fostering a greater sense of holistic wellness in their lives. I consider it a privilege to play a role in my client’s growth and healing journeys. My practice is centered around creating a safe and non-judgemental environment, focused on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship.

Outside of my work, I value spending time in nature, discovering local trails to hike, reading non-fiction, engaging in mindfulness practices, and spending time with my family.
