Nicole Godreau, (RP - Qualifying)
Registered Psychotherapist (Q) in Guelph, ON
About Nicole
My name is Nicole, and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph, with over 20 years of experience working in diverse therapeutic settings. Through my professional and personal experience I have developed an eclectic, flexible and client-centered approach to therapy, specializing in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families or caregivers.
Having worked in schools, I have a deep understanding of the education system, and understand how developmental, behavioural, and learning challenges can affect students and their families. This experience allows me to integrate therapeutic support that accounts for systemic challenges affecting individuals and try to ground my work in anti-oppressive, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally inclusive care, acknowledging the role of race, gender, disability, and class in shaping each person’s lived experience.
My therapeutic approach integrates various modalities and interventions with a strong focus on emotional awareness, self-compassion, nervous system regulation and interpersonal relationships. My goal is to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can feel seen, understood, and empowered to navigate their unique emotional and relational landscapes. I encourage collaboration with clients to help them create goals aligned with their unique lifestyle, focusing on resiliency, building stronger social connections, setting healthy boundaries, cultivating self-worth, and finding clarity in their life decisions.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading, listening to music, dancing, attending live music events, exploring nature, and spending quality time with my friends and family.
